Hi! I’m Josh!

So, you want to know about me?

The long story is: I wasn’t always an actor. I began acting at Western Connecticut State University. Before then I worked; as a lighting technician, an assistant producer on a syndicated morning show, and a customer service representative, among other things.

I decided to go back to school after leaving Clear Channel Communications. I chose to continue a communications degree. I only had several semesters left when one of my electives was Acting 101. I entered the class room to a Sicilian man who grew up in Brooklyn, Professor Sal. After we read some monologues and talked about acting, he approached me after class. “You know, maybe you want to come audition for our fall musical, we need guys like you. We’re doing the Full Monty, you know it?” Sal asked. I replied, “Yes I do, I guess I could give it a try.” What I didn’t tell Sal at the time was that my father, my uncle and I went to see it in its closing weeks on Broadway. We had a wonderful time. We all related to the one of the lead characters, “Dave”. When Sal asked me if I wanted to audition I really had no idea what I was in for.

The time for my audition came; I walked into the audition space and read a monologue and sang a song. I wasn’t sure what to make from it, but the next day I checked the bulletin board. There was my name for a callback. In the space I started reading with other people. They asked me to try different approaches. I didn’t remember when I felt so challenged. Later that night I was asked to cancel all my evening classes. So, I did. Not long after, I decided to change my major to theater. I would say that was the first step in my journey. Others would say that my first step was taking my clothes off in from of 700+ people a night. My education continued while I was auditioning. I started taking classes at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade. This opened a whole new area of interest for me with improve and writing. Several of my monologues are published and have been performed off Broadway with a showcase group I had the pleasure of working with, The Actor’s Project: NYC.

I’ve had the opportunity to perform; Off-Broadway, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Staged Reading at The Ken Fuchs Theater at HBO, in several commercials, as well as a network television show. I’m looking to expand into more theater and film.
